Description
4WD transfer case housings on 2003 to 2007 trucks with 48RE transmissions often crack and this is typically due to the lack of support of the heavy 80 lb. transfer case. This kit has been designed to solve this problem and is easy to install.A specially designed steel bracket installs in place of the lower two bolts (longer bolts supplied), and includes the common GM universal mount. The transfer case support bracket includes a machined steel spacer/washer (fits below skid plate) with tapered groove to clear OEM stamping.
NOTE: Must have factory skid plate installed to work. If your truck does not have one, visit your local Ram dealer and order these part numbers. See schematic above:
Skid Plate - 52022048AH
Crossmembers - 52022046AE
Bolt (8 required) - 6507342AA

Quality kit but way too much vibration created for me. Installed it. Drove around the block and removed it. Not for me.

Since I am always looking to not be completely stranded this looked like a help. My only worry is if you smack the skip plate hard you will now transfer the hit to the T-case. Since in all my somewhat hard 4x4ing I have not done this, I think the risk is worth it. BTW I don't have a vibration issue and the installation isn't hard if you have a hammer and bar to align everything. If you have a 3/4 ton, you probably are used to this.
Must Have For All 3/4 & 1 Ton Owners

This is a great kit for helping strengthen and improve reliability of your Dodge Ram drivetrain that Chrysler should have done in the first place. I had to order the cross member and skid plate and then source the bolts from a third party bolt supplier because the Dodge dealer said they are no longer being stocked. The bolts are : M8 x 1.25 x 30, you officially need 8 bolts but I got a bag of 17 with shipping fairly cheaply. Shop around for the cross member and skid plate or check your local salvage yard. Take your time with the install and be careful torquing things down. Especially the two bolts that come with the kit. This is a must have to add to the list of things to beef up your truck if you plan on keeping it for a long time. Even the mechanics at my local Dodge dealer liked it and are going to look into the kits for their customers. According to the transmission shops this is a great preventative step for Dodge owners... wonder when Chrysler if ever is going to submit a bulletin about this upgrade.....
