Description

To go hand-in-hand with the brake pads that we offer (or for any vehicle brake system in your garage), we have MOTUL DOT 5.1 high-performance brake fluid.

MOTUL's DOT 5.1 fluid has a number of advantages over standard brake fluid.

  • It contains all of the water-absorbing characteristics of the DOT 3 and 4 fluids while simultaneously providing for very high boiling points and relatively stable viscosity over a wide range of temperatures.
  • Compatible with your existing DOT 3 or 4 fluid and can be mixed without concern.
  • Suitable for trucks equipped with ABS brake systems.
  • AP Racing brake fluids are Glycol Ether based and are not silicone based.
The drawback, however, is that the DOT 5.1 is more expensive. But if you are towing heavy loads it is cheap insurance against a "soft" brake pedal that results in long pedal travel that can result in greatly increased stopping distances.

We recommend two bottles for a complete bleed/flushing and fill of your Dodge Ram's brake system.
