Description
Borgeson has sourced and adapted this brand new massive power steering box for the 2003-2008 4WD 2500/3500 and 3500 C&C Dodge Ram trucks. Similar to Chrysler's offering for the '03-'08 Dodge trucks, this Borgeson "Dodge Box" offers the largest piston diameter for the most available power assist and a modern variable valve that allows for stable highway driving and effortless parking and maneuvering.- 16:1 ratio is about 3.5 turns lock-to-lock.
- Larger piston diameter for more turning force
- Reuses OEM pitman arm
Comes with a 3-year manufacturer warranty.
NOTE: To use this steering box with your truck's existing steering shaft (a female, double D-shaped spline design), the Borgeson input shaft (male, O-shaped) will have to be filed-down with a grinding wheel.
NOTE:This steering box will not work on 4500/5500 Cab/Chassis trucks as they use a different chassis than the pickup trucks.
NO CORE CHARGE. WE DO NOT NEED THE CORE BACK.

I had stock gearboxes and even an older borgeson box. This thing is a lot different. It is bigger for sure. Steering is very responsive it has a very tight feel. My truck has over 300k on it but handles better than ever.
Not Good Go with OEM Style 6 Bolt

This box is not good. Mine was sloppy out of the box. Admittedly it was better than my old worn out 4 bolt unit but not by much. After emailing back and forth with Borgeson, they suspected the box was not centered properly and said it was a common installation error. I followed their guidance to attempt to reduce the slop and it was unsuccessful. This common installation error would not be possible if they had flats ground into their adapter like the OEM units. I would highly recommend buying a newer 6 bolt OEM replacement instead. I purchased a remanned 6 bolt from NAPA and my steering is 100% slop free now. The borgeson warranty is probably fine and I am sure I could have resolved my issue with that but I needed to get my truck running and could not afford the downtime to go through the process of returning the box to borgeson and having them check it out before sending a replacement.
Additionally, the adapter is not a good design and it is pretty sketchy to grind the flats in and quite difficult to get the flats in the correct spot to center them perfectly. If you are using the stock steering shaft DO NOT buy this box. Make your life easy and get a 6 bolt OEM replacement.
