Description

CUMMINS replacement engine oil dipstick for '01-'02 Dodge Turbo Diesel trucks equipped with the 5.9-liter 24-valve engine.

Blade style. Length: 47".

The original dipstick for the 2001 to 2002 year model trucks has been discontinued and replaced with part 3937748. If you are replacing the dipstick because of a broken handle, you can remove the handle from this dipstick and replace the handle on your original dipstick. Problem solved.
For whatever reason if you need to replace the entire dipstick, you will have to also replace the tube (part #3937749) since the new superseded dipstick will not work in the original tube. (Sorry)

Replaces Cummins 3946313, 3947228, 3947553 and Mopar 5017784AC, 5010964AB

I love purchasing products from you guys as I have second generation trucks. I'm happy with all the products you guys offer. I have done business with you guys in the past and will continue to do business with you in the future. I only ask that you guys never stop carrying second generation products and if some gets discontinued to make every effort to fill in that spot with something comparable or better. Thank you very much to all of you at genos garage.

2nd time is not the charm

I broke the handle on my dipstick twice. I've ordered this replacement twice, a few years apart. The actual dipstick doesn't have the twists at the bottom that allows it to make the turn into the block. I had to take the roll pin out of the handle and swap the metal part over. It works fine after that.

Not as good as I hoped

I broke the handle off of my old dip stick. The price on this one was very good so I ordered it. I liked that it was smooth (did not have any twists at the end) and did not have a joint in the middle like my original. Turns out the twists on the end are important in helping the dip stick make it around the bend of the tube. This dip stick was nearly impossible to get back in all the way. Very difficult to check your oil. I ended up pushing out the roll pin and put the new handle on the old dipstick. Works great.
Owner Response:We generally suggest swapping out the handle to avoid having to buy the updated tube.
