Description

If you're running a large exhaust, a PTO unit or transmission filter kit on your '05-'18 Dodge Turbo Diesel a single Trans-Cool can help keep your G56 manual transmission cooler.

The TRANS-COOL patent pending fin cooling system is uniquely designed to transmit heat from the inner fins to the outer fins, thus dissipating heat from the transmission.

Features include:

  • Holds an additional half a quart of transmission fluid.
  • Black powdercoat finish.
  • Patent-pending aluminum casting 356T6 alloy fins allow for cooling.
  • Bolts securely to any 5-speed or 6-speed Dodge truck transmission.
  • 1/8" drain plug
Kit includes:

  • (1) TRANS-COOL patent pending aluminum casting 356T6 alloy unit
  • (6) PTO bolts and washers
  • (1) PTO gasket (install new gasket included in system kit)
  • (1) 1/8" pipe plug (temperature gauge port with removable plug).

The cooler looks very nice. The problem I had with it is the heads of the bolts supplied with the cooler are so big that the socket required for the bolt won't fit down between the fins so you can tighten the bolts up. I had to purchase bolts with a smaller head so the cooler could be installed. I would give it a five star rating otherwise.

Near the end of a long day of pulling a heavy trailer, I've always noticed that my G56 seemed to get "tired". Shifting was less smooth. This cooler seems to have stopped that and I'm 100% happy. I only installed one on the driver side because there isn't much room from the exhaust on the passenger side.
