Had an issue with the new component after installing and tightening the three screws. What I finally troubleshot was the steel plates on either side and the spacers inside were not sufficient to keep the assembly from squeezing down on itself, and tightening the manual door lock lever to a point where it was clamped down, not allowing manual door knob actuation. After swapping the OEM side plates and center spacers onto the assembly, it functioned properly. I would have sent it back, but convenience and timing wasn't in my favor. I was ultimately successful and it's installed.
