Description
On the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel truck, removal of the fuel filter is not so easy. It is hidden underneath the bed of the truck, about mid-way back and just to the left-of-center.This wrench fits snugly on the bottom of the fuel filter canister and grabs the four tabs on the outside of it making removal easier.
If you plan to do your own fuel filter changes, this is a "must have" tool in your toolbox.
Note: This is for the tool only. Replacement drain plugs are no longer available.

I would like to thank you for designing your filter tool. I change my filter today even after purchasing the tool I saved over 50.00 compared to what the dealer wanted to do it. Next order I'll order a dozen filters that should last me for a while.

I am always very happy to see someone find a prominent flaw in the manufacturers design and correct it with high quality simple to use and priced appropriately. Thank you for taking the time to make something so useful for my ECO Diesel. My wife has the ECO Grand Cherokee. Does the plug fit it as well, It looks to have the same yellow plastic thingie. Owner Response:Darren, We did test fit the plug in a Grand Cherokee Eco Diesel, unfortunately it leaked and needed to be removed. They do look similar, but are different.

Dealer charges 200.00 for fuel filter change. I did it myself for 35.00 in about 15 minutes. This tool made that possible. It is well made and easy to use.

EXCELLANT PRODUCT,IT CAME WITH FUEL FILTER DRAIN PLUG.I DID NOT KNOW THE TOOL CAME WITH DRAIN PLUG . I BOUGHT TWO DRAIN PLUGS ,ONE FOR A FRIEND AND ONE FOR ME. NOW I HAVE AN EXTRA WHICH I WILL NEVER USE.
Owner Response:Feel free to return the not needed drain plug for a refund. I did verify that our website shows that the removal tool comes with a plug. Sometimes customers or shops order more plugs to have on hand.

This worked great. Changing the filter every 30k is recommended but since i have this tool and it runs smoother with a fresh filter i will be changing mine every 15k miles.

I love to do my own maintenance - so started looking at the fuel filter you tube videos. Several contained info about the billet aluminum tool and drain plug replacement from Geno's. The price of the tool made me hesitate. Just do it. It is the right tool for the job! The drain replacement part is also worth every penny. I think all will agree once they have replaced the fuel filter that the tool and part made by Geno's is perfect. I will pass the tool along in my will - I bet it will make Antiques Roadshow 2117!

The stock fuel filter drain simply does not work well, and it makes a mess. There's not a lot of room for a strap wrench around the filter housing. Having an easy tool on a wratchet extension and a functional drain plug makes this routine maintenance a lot less likely to dump half a liter of diesel on (you, your shop, driveway, etc).
The tool is solid, durable, looks great, and works great.

As advertised! Tool worked great for engaging and loosening the fuel filter housing. I used a Ziploc bag to catch the fuel and avoid the initial bath, and replaced the cheap plastic valve with the nice brass version from Geno's. Next replacement will go far better! Great products!

This filter wrench tool is ideal for swapping out a fuel filter. Using it - with its hex end - is much like the stock OIL filter housing on the top of the engine. (Which spins off as it's got an incorporated hex end.) The tool is well-made, heavy duty, and engages the ribs on the fuel filter housing perfectly. The ability to use a ratchet and socket with an extension versus a strap-wrench makes this task much easier. Great tool; glad I found it!

Filter removal tool worked as advertised... a very robust design (maybe even over engineered)... I do have one complaint on the brass replacement plug... the head thickness will make it susceptible to falling... particularly as it is made of brass. Overall, very satisfied. 4 rather than 5 stars due to thin profile of the head on the brass replacement plug.

I read about this on a Ram EcoD forum and watched their youtube video. OMG if you are changing your own fuel filter on a Ram 1500 Diesel, this thing is amazing! I highly recommend the kit and brass drain plug. The factory screw doesn't release but about 2 of the 14 oz that will drain from the filter housing. Fantastic product from Geno's Garage!!!

I purchased the Ram Ecodiesel Fuel Filter Removal Tool and received it yesterday. I used it today at the Firehouse to change the fuel filter and it made the job a lot easier. The tips in the video on your website made it a little cleaner to do as well. Thank you for a great product. This is the second time I have purchased from your company.
