Description
Monitor the health of the oil in your 5.9L or 6.7L Cummins or 3.0L EcoDiesel engine with a Fleetguard CC2543 Oil Analysis Kit.The oil analysis kit is a prepaid kit for sampling and testing the engine oil for contaminants which can monitor internal engine condition. This is best achieved over a period of time and continual tests can provide an early indication of a developing problem or let you know that the Cummins engine is working just fine. You would want to start with a fresh oil change to get a baseline and test the oil at an oil change to see what the level of contaminents are.
Tests include:
- Elemental Analysis (Spectroscopy)
- Infrared Spectroscopy
- Gas/Fuel Dilution
- Viscosity
- Total Base Number (TBN)
The kit includes:
- Container for collecting the engine oil
- Shipping bottle
Download the CC2543 information sheet to learn which analysis are done on the engine oil.
NOTE: The Oil Analysis Kit is designed primarily for owners who use their trucks in harsh conditions.
NOTE: Postage not included.
The suggested method to get a good oil sample is going to be during an oil change. You will want to have the clear bottle with you when you remove the oil plug and be ready to take samples periodically while the oil is draining. First start with a small sample when you first remove the plug, another small sample after 15-20 seconds and continue this so that you get a little bit of all the levels of oil in the pan as it exits. This will get you a diverse sample of all the oil in the pan, not just the first bit that comes out. Now put the clear bottle in the black canister and send it to the nearest testing center, but be sure to fill out the form and make sure it is included when the samples is shipped to the testing center.
