Description
If you are replacing the oil pan in your '89-'02 Dodge Turbo Diesel truck without removing the engine, you need to unbolt the oil pick-up tube to allow removal of the oil pan. When you go to reinstall the oil pick-up tube, install a new gasket.
NOTE: Removing the oil pan is big job and can be dangerous if not done with the proper precautions. A search of the internet will provide information of how truck owners have done this job.

Cummins multi-piece oil pan gasket
Oct 14, 2017 | By Arthur
I believe this is the latest revision of the oil pan gasket, however I am not a fan of it. It is thick, and if you follow the provided instructions, they state to use sealant on both sides - this causes the gasket to squeeze out in certain parts, including the areas where the pieces join to each other. I will be going with a one piece gasket next. I am not sure why they made it multi-piece - perhaps to avoid pulling the pan?
