BILLET ALUMINUM NV5600 SHIFT KNOB INSERT ('98-'05)

Purchased this with Geno's Mopar gearshift for Dodge 3500 - Installed both today to replace my worn out OEM shift knob. Looks good once installed but you have to be careful as its a VERY tight fit in the knob and once its in, its in for good. Tip for NV series and G56 series transmission installs: don't over-tighten your shift knob and lock nut (hand extra-tight is fine), then line up shift pattern billet and use light taps with a rubber mallet to slowly push the shift pattern into place. To line up straight, give one or two ugga dugga's on the shift knob by hand until you're happy.

Insert seems to be well made but did not install flush with a factory knob on my 04 (sticks out above knob). There is a groove machined near the top, but it should not be used to aid in removing the insert, as the finish is easily marred. The only way to get the insert out is to take the knob off and drive out with a drift from the back (gently).
