Description

Our 6.7L EGR Cleaning Kit with crankcase vent filter for the '07.5-'24, Ram 2500/3500 6.7L Cummins diesel engine is designed for the do-it-yourselfer who is handy with basic tools and doesn't want to pay dealer prices to have this maintenance done. If you price these parts over-the-counter at Mopar the cost is $180 plus $40 for the cleaning solution.

Cummins 6.7L owners are aware that there is a service required at the 67,500 mile interval for 2007.5 - 2018 model years, and 75,000 mile interval for 2019-2022 trucks: change the crankcase vent filter, clean the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve (2019 and newer model years EGR valves cannot be disassembled for cleaning), and EGR cooler assembly.

We would suggest using "Purple Power" as your cleaning solution. The folks at Truck Trend magazine did a comparison of several cleaners and Purple Power was their winner. They found the Mopar cleaner to be one of the least effective. This kit also works on 2007.5 to 2012 Ram 3500/4500/5500 cab and chassis trucks.

The Geno's Garage 6.7L EGR Cleaning Kit contains the following:

  • (1) CV520010 or CV54003 Crankcase Vent Filter
  • (2) EGR valve gaskets
  • (1) Small exhaust manifold gasket (EGR Cooler)
  • (1) Large exhaust manifold gasket (EGR Cooler)
  • (1) EGR butterfly gasket
  • (4) EGR plumbing gaskets. 3 composite and 1 metal
  • (3) Cooling system O-Rings
  • (1) Airhorn gasket
  • (2) Rubber plugs

Freddie Frugal Freddie Frugal knows that if you are going to spend time cleaning the EGR valve and EGR cooler, that you'll remove and clean the intake air horn that the EGR valve is bolted to. The replacement gasket for air horn-to-intake manifold is 5264566 and it is included in our EGR Cleaning Kit.

Additionally, our kit has thorough instructions for removal of the parts and tips on best method(s) for cleaning.

Finally, Freddie Frugal adds two rubber plugs for the ends of the EGR cooler assembly so you don't waste cleaning fluid. Fill up the cooler, cap it off, and soak it overnight. Use the caps to shake the cooler with the cleaner inside.

You may receive item CV52001 or CV54003. These filters are the same. Item CV54003 is the OEM Mopar crankcase filter made by Cummins Filtration for Mopar.
