Description
The tensioner is a spring-loaded pulley designed to keep the serpentine belt tensioned on the pulleys. Over time the tensioner spring can weaken or break allowing the serpentine belt to come loose.
Installing the CUMMINS replacement tensioner assembly for '89-'02, 5.9L Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel truck will keep the belt tight again.

Just installed along with water pump and a new mopar serp belt. Belt doesnt squeak anymore, but now i get a single click from the tensioner every 30 seconds or so. Just one single click. Idk if it's supposed to do that when first installed, but I couldn't find anything about it on cummins forum. I know it's the tensioner because it twitches slightly whenever I hear the noise. Drove a bit and it seems to have gone away, knock on wood.
